The Third Shanghai Archaeology Forum opened, World's Major archaeological discoveries and researches announced

The third Shanghai Archaeology Forum (SAF) organized by the Shanghai Academy, the Institute of Archaeology at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage, and Shanghai University, was held in 8th December,2017 in the Lecture Hall of the Library of Shanghai University. Mr. Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai joined the ceremony and gave a welcome address, which was followed by a congratulatory addresses delivered by Mr. Guan Qiang vice Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. The Opening Address was given by Professor Wang Weiguang, the President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.


The Third Shanghai Archaeology Forum (SAF) is held in Shanghai,Dec.8th,2017. 

BRIAN M. FAGAN, the former professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara,gained the SAF Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners receives the Research Awards at the SAF 2017 in Shanghai

The 2017 SAF Awards had been nominated by the SAF Advisory Committee consisting of about 150 renowned scholars in various fields of archaeology and cultural heritage from 45 countries. The nominations were reviewed and adjudicated by the SAF Selection Committee comprising 38 international experts from 16 countries in the world, according to the highest international standards of excellence and impartiality.

The theme of the forum is Water, Society and Civilization. Archaeologists from all over the world will present their latest discoveries and researches in the following two days.
